Essex Presidents Shield Winners 2022/23

Welcome.....

…. to possibly the greatest little rugby club in Essex. A bold statement, but that’s what we think, and that’s our driver to providing great opportunities for youngsters, men and women to play rugby.

Canvey Island Rugby Union Football Club has been part of Essex Rugby for over 50 years, and has provided players an outlet to play rugby at various levels.

Being part of the Canvey Island community, it’s not just Islanders that play and visit our club. We have players from across the County and supporters from around the world.

Rugby is more than just a sport, it’s a family, an ethos, a way of life. If you’re interested in playing rugby, keeping fit, meeting new friends or just socialising come and see us, we’re confident you’ll enjoy what we offer.

Thank you for visiting our website and feel free to contact us or give us a visit… you’re sure of a warm reception.

Doing our bit in the community

What people say about us...

Sports clubs are an integral part of any community, and our club is no different. We often host events where members of the public are welcome to join in and experience that Canvey Rugby Club atmosphere. Several local community groups / clubs also use our facilities to host meetings or sessions and we’re always keen to get involved with other locally organised events.

Being social

Our Clubhouse

The hub of our rugby family is the Clubhouse. We are always striving to improve the facilities we have, so that individuals and families alike have a great place to relax and enjoy the hospitality we offer. We’ve recently completely refurbished our male and female toilets, which have been finished to a high standard and are wheelchair friendly.

A spacious hall, fully stocked bar, very competitive prices and some fantastic bar staff, provide a great setting for all our members and guests. Our Clubhouse provides a safe environment for children, teenagers and young adults to socialise and form new friendships & bonds. Plenty of parking just a few yards from the Club House provides easy access for all.

We also hire the hall for parties, events, gatherings and other local club activities. Click here to find out more about hiring our hall.
